Sector is a restricted space that demarcates a part of the scene. It serves optimization purposes.
The passage between sectors is made possible by the Portals. The Portals also determine which objects associated with individual sectors should be drawn.
The current sector (i.e. the one in which the camera is currently located) can be selected by pressing E. The information regarding the current sector is listed on the right hand side of the status line.
Each scene contains at least two basic sectors - World and Background.
